    San Jose del Cabo News (Dec 13th, 2010)

    Dear readers,
    Los Cabos Cultural Agenda for December 2010 has planned great events you shouldn’t miss! One of my favorites is “Christmas in Mexico” by Amalia Hernandez , they will be performing several traditional dances and songs from Mexico with over 80 artists on stage. You and your family can come, learn and enjoy some of our Mexican Christmas traditions!
    You can find more information about the different events and the Cultural Agenda below. So make sure to mark your calendar and remember that some of these events are for free.
    Tuesday December 14th.
    “Christmas in Mexico” Ballet Folklorico de Mexico by Amalia Hernandez.  With over 80 artists on stage performing and promoting our Christmas traditions such as “nativity scene”, “alebrijes” and choirs singing seasonal music.
    Plaza Mijares, starting at 7:30 PM.

    Sunday December 19th.
    Piano recital by the young musician Rodolfo Henkel, who just recently won a national competition.
    City Theater, starting at 7:30 PM. $100 pesos entry fee.
    Monday December 20th.
    “Joy of the World” Christmas Music Concert 2010, by Opera Choir of National Institute of Fine Arts. James Demster – Director; Józef Olechowski – Pianist / Organist.
    Mision de San Jose, starting at 8.00 PM
    Tuesday December 21st.
    “Un canto llevado a Cabo” Fragments of Opera and Zarzuela, with Soprano Lidia Calderon de la Barca, Actor Jorge Caballero Vega and Tenor Alejandro Esparza Perez, accompanied by pianist Fabian Fournier.
    Mision de San Jose, starting at 7.00 PM. Donations are welcome.
    December 22, 23 and 24
    “A Magical Christmas Show” The Christmas Musical of Los Cabos. Bringing together local talented voices with striking scenery and lighting as well as dancers and other surprises. Program includes some of the most recognizable Christmas songs in both English and Spanish. General Director and Producer: Alan Castro Ruiz.
    City Theater, starting at 5.30 PM. $ 100.00 pesos entry fee, 50% discount for children under 10 years.


    PERMANENT PROGRAMS

    Every Thursday in December – Popular music concert at Plaza Mijares by Los Hermanos Pérez. Playing old time Mexican hits and Latin rhythms like danzon, cumbia, cha cha cha, merengue and more.
    From 7.00 to 10.00 PM.
    Every Sunday in December- “PLAZaRTE” Permanent Program of the City, through which families will enjoy workshops arts, documentaries, concerts, contests and many more surprises. In San Jose at Plaza Mijares;  in Cabo San Lucas at Plaza León Cota Collins.
    From  5.00 to 9.00 PM in every plaza. Not admission fee and no charge per workshops.

    Lumiere´s Cinema Club:
    Every Wednesday at 8.00 PM at San Jose´s City Theater – Films from International Independent Studios.
    Every Sunday a Matinee at 11.00 AM at San Jose´s City Theater – Films for kids.
    As you see, there are many activities for you and your family for this holiday season… and I will love to see you there!
