Todos Santos Real Estate & News (Nov 10th, 2010)

Alvaro Colindres, our Sales Associate from our Coldwell Banker Riveras office in Todos Santos, is sharing with us information about a health seminar in the upcoming days as well as some news about what is going on in the real estate market.

What is New in Todos Santos?

One of the first questions we get asked when showing property is “What about medical care here in Baja?” My experience is that medical care in Baja Sur has been excellent, but the question that often remains is how do we pay for it? Most hospitals and doctors require payment up front, so residents who are accustomed to health insurance, such as monthly premiums, deductibles and co-pays are often unprepared for this. To address the needs of our community, Coldwell Banker Riveras in conjunction with Homes and Land of Baja will be sponsoring a seminar explaining how current US programs may solve this problem.  With the new “Obamacare” soon to go into effect, will it address this problem? What about Medicare and Medicare supplements? What about private insurers? When a health emergency arises in Baja, and there is no time to return to the US, what happens? More importantly how do I pay for it? These and other questions about health insurance in Baja will be answered at a free seminar held in Todos Santos Wednesday, November 17th at 1:30 p.m. at La A.R.C.A. community center, located in downtown Todos Santos on Calle Topete one block down from the Todos Santos Inn. The seminar will be offered by Rudy Deutschmann a graduate of Southern Illinois University (1967) who attended the University of Chicago MBA program. Mr. Deutschmann brings together a unique understanding of Health Insurance for those under 65, Medicare for those over 65, and how both of these programs interact with the very special circumstances and needs of American citizens living in Mexico. For more information about the seminar or to reserve your space, contact Alvaro Colindres at acolindres@cbriveras.com.

And what is new in Real Estate in Pueblo Magico Todos Santos?

We are busy in the Todos Santos renewing many of our listings, which means we are coming up on our one year anniversary at the new Coldwell Banker Riveras office located in the Plaza Antigua Building corner of Calle Juarez and Topete, two blocks up from The Todos Santos Inn (and across the street from La Galeria de Todos Santos). Out of all the real estate offices in Todos Santos, our office has generated the most sales for 2010. We are gearing up for the new season and looking forward to another good year and ready to be of service. Dan Binetti is our high energy Sales Manager and keeps the office running efficiently and gladly assists us when we need it. Lisa Welsch–Licensed Realtor, who moved here from the San Diego area with her husband, is very much involved with community life and a pleasure to work with. With my background in Hospitality and event production and photography skills, we all bring distinct talents which make up a solid team and the obvious choice for buying property in Todos Santos.

We just listed Casa Camino La Poza 1 Bed 1 Bath offered at $189,000 USD, located about half way between La Poza Beach and Downtown Todos Santos. Gorgeous rock work facade with artistic finishes throughout and offers a tranquil setting with oasis views. The house is the ideal size for vacation home and, with almost half an acre of land (1825 M2), there’s plenty of room to add on.
